Exciting news! I wrote a book for young people about a subject I’m very passionate about; “Love, Dating and Heartbreak.” (Link in Bio)
This is the topic that students turn to me for support the most; which makes sense because good relationships are one of the strongest predictors of wellbeing.
These are some of the questions that are at the heart of our conversations and that I answer in the book…
* How do I feel good about being single when all my friends are ‘loved up?’
* How do I turn my ‘situationship’ into a relationship?
* How do I tell a friend I have feelings for them?
* How do I know if this person is a good match?
* I’ve just been ghosted. It was going so well! Now what?
* How do I ask for what I need without scaring them off?
* How do I tell my partner to give me more space without hurting their feelings?
* My partner cheated on me; do I stay or do I go?
* How do I break up with my partner?
* I’ve just been dumped and it really hurts. How do I feel normal again?
* I have ‘break up regret’ should I get back together with my ex?
* My ex contacted me out of nowhere and wants to get back together. What should I do?
If you know a teen who is flying solo and working on their confidence, navigating the dating scene, trying to improve their relationship, or mending their broken heart – this book has got their back!

University life can be a whirlwind; these simple wellbeing skills that I shared with the first year students during O Week can help you stay balanced and thrive:
Be Kind – Kindness is the glue of making new friends.
Be Authentic – Staying true to yourself is more important than fitting in.
Ask for Help – We are more successful when we operate as a team.
Get Involved – Join clubs, sports, or volunteer to build connections.
Prioritise Sleep – Try to get 7-9 hours of sleep every night.

Students and staff dialed up their ‘PERMAH’ and got involved in Wellbeing Week at Kings last week. From morning walks and BBQ breakfasts to community dinners, Zumba classes, puppy cuddles, afternoon paint, cheese, and chats, and enjoying fresh juices, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends and focus on our health.

Have you ever stopped and noticed your self talk? Your inner voice that runs throughout the day that says things you don’t say out loud. It helps you to process experiences, ask questions, make decisions and influences how you feel.
But, just because your inner voice tells you something, does it mean it’s true? Absolutely not. Your thoughts are just thoughts. They are not facts. According to psychologist Michael Stein, ‘if you take everything your mind says seriously, give it too much respect and put too much trust in your thoughts, that is a recipe for an anxiety disorder.’ The healthier way to approach your inner voice is not to take it so seriously. Don’t believe everything it tells you.

Many parents have expressed to me, that they feel that their role as a parent might become obsolete when their children transition into adulthood, but your role doesn’t become obsolete, it simply shifts from being ‘the driver’ to becoming ‘the passenger.’ Which is similar to being a coach.
A passenger’s role is to listen to the needs of the driver and help them navigate to where they want to go. A passenger’s role is to support, advocate, challenge and be a non -biased sounding board and help the driver navigate through obstacles to help them reach their destination more quickly.
A passenger’s role is not to tell the driver what to do. We respect that the driver is the one who is steering the wheel and pressing the accelerator and we try our hardest not to tell them to ‘brake!’ ‘brake!’ brake!’ all the time.
Check out my blog in the bio for more tips on how you can become a better ‘passenger.’
