The lunch table at Olivedale Montessori 🍎🥕

There’s something special about gathering around the table together 🤍

While children bring their own snacks each day, our lunches are thoughtfully prepared to be healthy, balanced, and nourishing, giving little bodies the fuel they need to learn, play, and grow.

It’s not just about eating, it’s about building good habits, enjoying wholesome food, and sharing moments with friends 🍽️💛

Because a happy, full tummy makes for a happy, thriving child.

The right start matters 🤍

From as young as 16 months, your child can begin their journey at Olivedale Montessori in a space designed for real growth, not just supervision.

While you focus on your day, your little one is:

Our toddler class carers are fully trained to support:

Half Day (07:00 – 13:00) – R3 900 p/m
Full Day (07:00 – 17:00) – R4 400 p/m

We’re so excited to introduce Oliver, our Giant African Land Snail, who has joined our Montessori classroom 🐌✨

Our children are absolutely loving having him around, observing him up close, asking questions, and learning in such a calm, hands-on way 🌿

Come visit our classroom and meet him in person, but for now… here are some weird and wonderful facts about his species:

🐌 How big can they get?
They can grow up to 20cm long (that’s bigger than your hand 😮)

🥬 Favourite foods
They love fresh fruit and veggies like cucumber, lettuce, carrots, and fruit peels 🍎🥒
(They’re basically tiny compost helpers!)

🌍 What do they do for the environment?
They help break down dead plants and organic matter, returning nutrients back into the soil and keeping ecosystems healthy 🌱

🦷 Their teeth (this one’s wild!)
They don’t have teeth like us… they have a radula, a tongue covered in thousands of microscopic teeth 😳
It helps them scrape and eat their food!

🤯 Weird facts our kids LOVE:
• They can sleep for months if conditions aren’t right 😴
• They leave a slime trail that helps them move and protect their bodies
• They have both male and female reproductive organs
• Their eyes are on the tips of their tentacles 👀
• If handled gently, they can become quite used to human interaction

Having Oliver in the classroom is helping our children learn about gentle care, nature, responsibility, and curiosity in the most natural way 💛

✨ Pop in and meet Oliver… he may be slow, but he’s definitely stealing the show!

Wishing our wonderful families a joyful Easter filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of chocolate magic 🍫🐰 This special time of year is all about new beginnings, growth, and making beautiful memories… and there’s nothing we love more than seeing our little ones experience that joy through play, creativity, and connection 💛🌿

Our Holiday Club (excluding public holidays) keeps the Easter excitement going with daily activities designed to keep little minds busy and happy 🐇🎨

From Easter-themed crafts and imaginative play to outdoor adventures, games, and movement… every day is filled with something new to explore.

It’s the perfect space for children to enjoy their holiday while still feeling engaged, supported, and inspired.
