Addressing issues related to raising African kids in a world where the western culture seems to be prevailing more than our own.

Hello friends, there is so much racial tension in our country. For most of us the wounds are raw, because there is a lot of loss in context and a lot of missing the point. But more importantly the systems of apartheid still persist, we are still not born equal, far from it.

To Black parents?
1. What are doing to teach your child self worth?
2. What you doing to show your child that where we come from matters, that our culture matters too(and I not including oppressive culture here|).
3. Should we care about decolonisation?

To white parents?
1. Do you talk to your kids about racism?
2. Do you raise them to be anti-racist?
3. What does the talk look like?

16 June 1976. The black youth marches for equal education.

Today, we proudly march to private schools so that our kids can get a superior education.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Proverbs 31:8‭-‬9

A good education should not be a privilege. It is a human right.

The fight is still on. They made a difference. So can we.

My daughter lost her first tooth. She is waiting for the tooth fairy to get it and leave some cash. And it felt like I was taking something away from her when I tried to explain to her there is no tooth fairy. As an african mom/dad what do you tell your kids to do with their tooth?
