A vibrant wave of color replaced the usual uniforms yesterday as we celebrated Heritage Day.

The school transformed into a living museum of our rainbow nation, with corridors coming alive in spectacular traditional attires. Excitement buzzed as students proudly shared the history of their dress and listened intently to the stories of their peers. It was an exciting journey of discovery, learning from the diverse cultures all around us.

Ultimately, the day proved that while our roots stretch in different directions, we all grow together under the same African. 🇿🇦❤️

We gathered for a very special non-academic assembly but, the awards given weren't decided by test scores or teachers. Instead, they were chosen entirely by the learners themselves, who spent the term quietly observing the goodness in one another. It was incredibly humbling to see who they chose to honor.

They noticed the classmate who silently picks up litter on the playground, the peer who steps in to help a friend in need, the ones who show immense resilience through tough times, and those who have quietly mastered the art of being the teacher's reliable right hand.Children see everything. They see the growth, the neatness, and the small acts of kindness that adults sometimes miss.

Listening to them praise and appreciate each other brought a collective sparkle to the room and reminded us all that the richest part of our school day isn't what's written in textbooks, but the beautiful characters being formed within these walls.

Thank you to our amazing learners for making our school a kinder, brighter place to be every single day.

Did You Know? 🤔✨

KingsWay Christian School turns 40 Years

Did you know our school began in 1986, not in a large, modern classroom block, but with just seven children gathered in a garage?

Those seven children were the very first learners of what would become a beacon of hope and quality education in our community. Fast forward to 1990, the school officially opened its doors at our current home in Randpark Ridge, allowing us to open our arms to learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, including nearby Zandspruit.

Today, in 2026, our current principal, Kgethi Dlamini, and our newly elected student leaders are proudly carrying a legacy that has grown from those 7 original children to 258 amazing learners!

Four decades of shaping young minds, anchoring lives in faith, and building a supportive community, all thanks to a tiny seed planted in a garage 40 years ago. God has been truly faithful!

What does a clean and sustainable city look like through the eyes of a child?

At Kingsway, our Grade 4 learners answered this question by creating a clean city as part of their Mathematics 3D project, using the principles of the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Their models reflected thoughtful planning, creativity, and a commitment to caring for the environment.

The excitement continued in the Foundation Phase, where learners transformed recyclable materials into innovative modes of transport and colourful chef hats. These projects reminded us that learning is most powerful when imagination, creativity, and environmental responsibility come together.

Building skills today, creating a greener tomorrow. 🌱🚲🏙️

Grade 7 Fun Filled Market Day 😋

There is nothing quite like watching young minds unlock their full potential. Today, KingsWay Christian School was transformed into a bustling hub of future CEOs and creatives for our Grade 7 Market Day.

Our students showed us exactly what they are made of: pure talent, innovation, and serious business sense. From the initial spark of an idea to the final sale, they handled it all with so much passion and determination.

To our parents, teachers and guardians: thank you for standing behind them and supporting this journey. We all thoroughly enjoyed the exciting shopping experience!

Grade 7 Market day

On Friday, our amazing Grade 3s took a trip in a time machine for their "How People Lived Long Ago" history lesson.

The students had to dress up and act exactly like someone from the past and they absolutely blew us away with their creativity. From adorable grannies with their pearl necklaces, cardigans, and glasses, to dapper grandpas and vintage historical figures, the classroom looked like a living history book.

They didn't just wear the costumes; they stayed in character all day long, showing us all how much fun history can be when you bring it to life!

Our learners took on an exciting project, building cranes entirely out of recyclable materials. What made this project truly special was seeing our girls step into the spotlight, taking the lead on design and construction.

At KingsWay Christian School, we are deeply committed to STEM education and empowering the girl child to lead, innovate, and break boundaries. Watching these young minds transform everyday cardboard, wood and plastic into functional machinery was absolutely inspiring.
