RANDBURG TRAINING ACADEMY AT IT AGAIN!

Developing today’s electrical workers into tomorrow’s qualified electricians.

The first group of trainees under our SAEWA-funded training initiative successfully completed their training in April 2026.

We are especially proud to recognise the two top academic achievers from this group, Messrs. Lucas Mekoa and Abram Baloyi. In recognition of their outstanding performance, commitment and academic excellence, Randburg Training Academy has resolved to fund their further training and development until they qualify as electricians and obtain their Wireman’s Licences.

Their achievement demonstrates what can be accomplished when opportunity, commitment and quality training come together.

SECOND INTAKE – 20 TRAINEES

We are pleased to announce that the second group of 20 trainees under the SAEWA-funded initiative is scheduled to commence training on the weekend of 22 August 2026.

Training will take place over 10 consecutive weekends, on Saturdays and Sundays, with the objective of preparing participating electrical workers to qualify as Elconop 2 category employees.

Who qualifies?

To be considered for participation, you must:

Have been a SAEWA member for at least six months;
Be currently employed in the electrical industry;
Be registered with the NBCEI; and
Not already be qualified as an Elconop 2 or Elconop 3 employee.

Today was a very special day I feel extremely elated and content. We celebrated the achievements of our first cohort of SAEWA-funded Elconop training who have successfully completed their training. More pleasing is the fact that their partners and their children were there to witness and celebrate the moment with them. It was lit... Every weekend they sacrificed time their with family and friends to be at the training centre. This group understood that 'there is no price high enough for the privilege of owning yourself.'

Assessment day at RTA today. The guys were doing knowledge modules assessments as well as practical assessments. Now they have seen their own reflections in their respective mirrors. Becoming an electrician requires hard work. Certificates are not just issued, they are earned. Till the next set of assessments!
