TRANSFORMERS MINISTRY
Sunday Service
Message by Prophet Femi Oshin
SCRIPTURE READINGS: Malachi 3:2–4 | Ephesians 5:18–21 | 1 Corinthians 6:19
PART ONE: THE REFINING PROCESS
Can God Look at You and Call You Refined?
Prophet opened the service with a searching question directed at every heart in the room: "Can God look at us and say that we are refined?"
He reminded us that the refining and pruning process of God does not end on this side of eternity. God will only complete His work of refinement the day we enter heaven. None of us, no matter how far we have grown, will ever outgrow the need to be pruned and refined by God while we remain on this earth.
Identifying the Refining Process
One of the clearest signs that you are being refined is the renewal of your mind. A person who is being refined carries a growing Christlikeness — they begin to look, respond, and move more like Jesus. Refinement comes through fire, and honestly, no one naturally enjoys fire. Yet it is through this very process that we are made new.
Prophet challenged each of us to ask ourselves sincerely:
i. Do I genuinely want to be refined?
ii. Am I willing to pay the price that refinement requires?
iii. Will I pray to be refined?
iv. Do I have a picture in my heart of my refined self?
Take Refinement Seriously
Prophet issued a sobering caution: do not take any believer seriously who is not being refined, for the closer we draw to God, the more refined we inevitably become. The two are inseparable.
He also addressed a common misunderstanding meekness is not weakness. True meekness is the expression of genuine power operating through the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Holy Spirit, refine me by Your fire and by Your power, in the name of Jesus.
2. Blood of Jesus, refine me, in the name of Jesus.
3. Blood of Jesus, wash my mind, in the name of Jesus.
4. Blood of Jesus, purge my soul, in the name of Jesus.
5. Blood of Jesus, wash my soul of every past trauma, in the name of Jesus.
PART TWO: BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
Two Commands in One Breath Ephesians 5:18–21
Prophet drew our attention to Ephesians 5:18, which simultaneously commands us not to be drunk with wine and to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The implication is striking: to be drunk with wine is sin, but equally, to not be filled with the Holy Spirit is also sin. Both are commands from God, not suggestions.
How then do we get filled with the Holy Spirit? We ask Him to fill us afresh daily.
A Question Posed: If the Holy Spirit Dwells in Us, Why Must We Keep Asking? 1 Corinthians 6:19
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have received as a gift from God, and that you are not your own property?"
1 Corinthians 6:19 (AMP)
This question was raised: if the Holy Spirit already dwells within us, why must we continually ask Him to fill us?
Prophet's answer was clear: the presence of the Holy Spirit within us does not automatically mean we are actively engaging with Him. The Holy Spirit moves and works in us only as we yield to and allow Him. Prophet illustrated this with a practical example if you have a heater in your home but do not switch it on, it does not cease to be a heater. However, it cannot warm the room until it is activated.
The Holy Spirit within us is present to lead, guide, and guard us. The Holy Spirit coming upon us empowers us to carry out the work of ministry to which God has called us. These are two distinct and important operations.
How We Hinder the Holy Spirit
Prophet identified three ways in which we can grieve or restrict the Holy Spirit in our lives:
i. We quench the Holy Spirit by hindering His movement and not yielding to His guidance.
ii. We silence the Holy Spirit by disobeying a clear instruction He gives us.
iii. We grieve the Holy Spirit by choosing to live a sinful life.
A key reason many believers do not seek the Holy Spirit's help is simply this: they do not truly know Him.
Challenge: Set aside time to sit down and list every place and role the Holy Spirit held in the life of Jesus Christ. This exercise will deepen your understanding of and dependence on Him.
