People of all ages need to learn new skills. Others are already working, but need to develop their skills and advance their careers. Others require new skills to gain employment or become business people who create employment for themselves and others.
For this reason, the South African government has invested in Sector Education & Training Authorities known as SETAs.
One can get free training from any SETA and be paid a monthly stipend while training to obtain a qualification. There are 21 different SETAs in South Africa, focusing on developing skills for different sectors of the economy- AgriSETA, ServicesSETA, BankSETA, FASSET, INSETA, to name but a few.
Every week, we are going to look at one sector at a time, outline the different qualifications, breakdown the requirements for each qualification and how one can get involved without paying money.
Follow us for valuable content and invite anyone looking to upgrade their skills or to further their education but could not do so because of lack of finances.
By the way ,there are also bursaries one can apply for and get a qualification from a public tertiary institution, all paid for by the government.
We will walk this journey with you until you get what you need.
