We are proud to share the achievement of Alizwa Tolibadi, who recently took part in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition. Alziwa progressed through all three rounds, reaching the final where she scored 12 out of 20, placing in the top 25% globally and earning a Silver Certificate.

Congratulations, Alizwa, on this fantastic achievement and for representing GHS on an international platform!

We are excited to share that our two U16 learners, Anele Ndlovu and Cailyn Clowes, have progressed to the second round of the KZN Water Polo Trials.

We are proud of their achievement and wish them both the very best as they take on the next round. Well done, Anele and Cailyn!

One day, five sports and plenty of school spirit!

Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School takes on Westville Girls’ High School in an exciting day of competition. Our learners will take to the courts, fields and pool in Basketball, Soccer, Netball Fast 5 and Water Polo, showcasing their skill, determination and team spirit.

Today, we welcomed more than 700 visitors to Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School, with families interested in both our day school and Morningside boarding establishment.

Families had the opportunity to tour our school and Morningside, explore our facilities and experience what life at GHS is all about. They also learnt more about the academic, sporting, cultural and leadership opportunities available to our learners, as well as the Morningside boarding experience.

It was wonderful to have so many prospective learners and their families on campus and to share what makes GHS a special place to learn, grow and belong.

Thank you to our staff and learners for helping make the day a success. We look forward to welcoming many of our visitors to the GHS family.

What a fantastic past week of sport for Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School! Our athletes showcased their talent across multiple sporting codes, delivering outstanding performances and memorable victories.

We are proud to share that Metia has recently earned her Black Belt in Karate after 11 years of dedication, consistency and hard work.

Her success continued at the KZN Regional Championships, where her Renshukai Dojo competed with 28 athletes and returned with 56 medals. Metia contributed to this achievement with Gold in the Unison Kata Team, Silver in Kumite and Bronze in Kata.

Congratulations, Metia, on these fantastic achievements. We are proud of your dedication, perseverance and success!
