At Settlers' Park Pre-Primary School, communication with parents is a priority. From fun days, weekly concepts and reminders to photos and encouragements from the teacher. Bridging the gap between home and school, our Settlers' On WhatsApp Community with our admin and classes groups helps us keep everyone in the loop on a day-to-day basis.

This is what our Ladybird class got up to today:
"Today we had some extra time and enjoyed a spontaneous sound activity that truly highlighted how much the children are growing in their phonics learning. We used our flashcards in a playful way — instead of naming the picture, the children had to tell me the sound that the picture began with. This encouraged them to listen carefully and focus on the building blocks of pre-reading. Afterwards, I placed the sound pictures in a jumbled order on the floor. Each child chose their own picture and proudly placed it into the correct sound box. It was wonderful to see their confidence and excitement as they matched sounds so accurately. Moments like these show us how learning-through-play can spark joy while strengthening essential skills. Your little ones did such a fantastic job, and I am so proud of their progress." 🥰❤️📚👂
