What a wonderful way to go into the mid-term weekend… with the cutest race of the year β€” Sporty Tots!
Our Grade RRR to Grade 2 girls had a fantastic time today at TWC’s sweetest athletics day, celebrating our smallest TWC athletes!
A special shoutout to our Grade 7 pupils, who were wonderful mentors, encouraging and guiding the little ones throughout the morning. Our girls are so lucky to have such caring big sisters! πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ€

This year’s Annual Variety Show, hosted by the Cultural Committee, was a wonderful showcase of the talent and creativity within our school community. From song, dance, music and poetry to a Jazz Band and the Hilton College Marimba Band, the evening was filled with diverse and exciting performances.
The Variety Show gives our pupils the opportunity to step onto a bigger stage, share their talents with a wider audience and grow in confidence through performance. It was a celebration of the dedication, creativity and individuality that make our TWC community so special. πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ€

Our Grade 1 girls put their dads to the test last Wednesday, teaching them how to barn dance! And our TWC Dads certainly showed up, impressing us with their skipping, dancing and ability to stay perfectly in step with their little girls.
The dance lessons continued on Thursday, when our girls passed on their newly mastered moves to their friends from Cordwalles Preparatory School We hope the Cordies boys put their new skills to good use and impressed their mums that evening!
There’s nothing quite like learning, laughing and dancing together at TWC! πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ€

Grade 9 pupil, Lily Miller was selected as a travelling reserve for the Under 18 Zambian Polo Team and travelled to Kenya for the U18 Zambia vs Kenya International Polo Tournament, from 31 July to 2 August.
Although Lily did not take the field for the Zambian side, she competed in mixed teams in the B Division, gaining valuable international match experience and the opportunity to play alongside and against players from different countries.

At just 15 years old, this was an exciting opportunity for Lily to develop her polo experience on an international stage. We are proud to see her taking her skills beyond the local arena and making the most of every opportunity. πŸ‡

From a business idea on paper to a real business with customers, sales and a place on the Market Day stalls, our Grade 9 Business Studies pupils took on the challenge of becoming young entrepreneurs.
Working in teams, the pupils developed and pitched their business ideas before launching them at the annual Market Day, putting their entrepreneurial skills into practice.

The experience required pupils to make decisions, manage finances, engage with customers and take responsibility for the success of their businesses. These achievements were celebrated at the annual Business of the Year Awards on 25 July 2026, recognising the innovation, creativity and business acumen demonstrated throughout the programme.

On 5 August 2026, the TWC Indoor Centre was filled with 150 enthusiastic and slightly nervous pupils from 15 schools in Pietermaritzburg and the surrounding areas, together with 25 TWC Grade 8 pupils, who attended the annual Grade 8 Mike Nicholson Maths Fest.
This event, held at TWC, aims to inspire pupils to enjoy Mathematics by exposing them to questions and challenges that differ from those typically encountered in the classroom. Working in teams, the pupils tackled problem-solving questions requiring logic, reasoning and a sound understanding of mathematical concepts.
Once the initial nerves had settled, the pupils fully embraced the challenges, working collaboratively, enthusiastically and creatively. The evening was a wonderful success, with pupils being stretched beyond their comfort zones, developing their problem-solving skills and forming new friendships along the way.
It was once again a great privilege to have the founder of the event, Mike Nicholson, present for the evening. πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ€

A true friend is both a shield and a guide, standing beside you through every challenge and celebrating every success.

This Women's Day, we celebrate the strength of sisterhood. The friendships that encourage us, support us, and remind us that we are always stronger together.

"There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish." – Michelle Obama
