Hello Carter High School
Any founder pupils or teachers follow this page? It's me I'm out of detention now😉
Will never forget my time there only 3 classes were occupied back then

How you have progressed!
All the great reviews.
Mrs Van one of the only teacher that managed to inspire me to get 90%+ she taught accountancy. Her favorite thing to say to us naughty smokers " Rembrandt van Ryan every cough is a masterpiece"
I think this class of hard working students were unwittingly (or maybe not) set the standards of discipline, I think Kevin Carter was not at school that day, he must have been really sick that day, because like the rest of us in the photos he would never miss school.
I can't wait to see the comments 😂😂😂😂

Celebrating National Library Week at Carter - Reading Walk

There is no better way to grow your mind than reading a book. Carter hosted a wide range of activities to celebrate National Library Week that demonstrated our love and appreciation for reading. Our Reading Walk took place yesterday and allowed our teachers and students to truly show their passion for the written word. Our readers marched along our school grounds while holding up words and messages of inspiration. Thank you to all who participated, thank to our Librarian Mrs Nonxuba, and thank you to our Library Monitors. You all illustrated the great significance of reading!

Celebrating National Library Week at Carter - Mobile Library

Carter hosted a wide range of activities this National Library Week that demonstrated our love and appreciation for reading. One of these activities had our library monitors walk around our school showcasing the amazing reads our library had to offer. Our Carterians were able to check out our top selections and reserve their favourite books.

Magnificent Men Boot Camp

The Grade 8 "Magnificent Men Boot Camp” was held from 27th-28th January 2023.

The Boot Camp was aimed to developing our Grade 8 boys into the exemplary, respectful and diligent young men Carter High School has been known to produce over the years!

During the boot camp, our boys were taught the importance of discipline, discovering their identity as individuals, unleashing their full potential and equipping them to take full advantage of the tremendous opportunities presented to them at our prestigious school.

Carter High School aims to groom young men who are responsible, exemplary and contribute positively towards the school's mandate and to the communities they represent at large.

The boot camp is designed to orientate our boys on what it means to be a Carterian and to embody the values of the school as a baseline for their personal development and life in general.

Among the decorated list of guest speakers and role models were Mr. Brice Petersen, Mr. Stephen Stoffberg and Mr. Kyle Pillay. Our speakers shared some important life lessons and imparted a wealth of knowledge by encouraging the boys to make a positive impact in their school and communities.

Our magnificent men were also taught the importance of discipline, honest living, hard work, dreaming big and putting in the work in order to make their dreams come true.

The camp was coordinated by Mr. Zane Mchunu (Educator) and members of staff.

We appreciate the contributions of all our stakeholders who contributed towards the development of our boys.

Carter High School plans to host these developmental initiatives annually, with the view of empowering our youth. In future we look forward to broadening our stakeholder list of participants inclusive of Government, Civil Society and the Private Sector.

Carter High School - Leading the way!

Mr. Z. Mchunu

Showing support to our Grade 11 students

88 of our Grade 11's were invited to take part in a pilot project called the Mental Health and Gender Initiative, jointly hosted by UKZN and the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG). The aim of this project is to raise awareness and improve attitudes towards psychosocial issues affecting our teens and society. It took the form of a drama production and interactive workshop. It was a memorable and fun learning experience!

The Grade 8 “Remarkable Man-Boot Camp” was held from 2 September 2022 to 3 September 2022.

In essence Carter High aims to groom young men who are responsible, exemplary and contribute positively towards the schools mandate and to the communities they represent at large.

The inaugural boot camp is designed to orientate our boys on what it means to be a Carterian and to embody the values of the school as a baseline for their personal development and life in general.

Among the decorated list of guest speakers and role models were Mr. Bryce Moon and Mr. Ricardo Katza. Having both represented the national football team (Bafana Bafana) with great distinction, they shared some important life lessons and imparted a wealth of knowledge by encouraging the boys to make a positive impact in their communities.

They also taught our young men the importance of discipline, honest living and hard work, encouraging them to dream big and put in the work in order to make their dreams come true.

The camp was coordinated by Mr. Z Mchunu (Educator), with the generous support from Kia, Mahindra, Mitsubishi Multifranchise Pietermaritzburg, Mr. & Mrs. Roberts from the Pelham supermarket, Mr. and Mrs. Naicker from the school tuck shop and members of staff.

We appreciate the contribution of these important stakeholders who contributed towards the development of our boys.

Carter High School is looking at having such youth boot camps annually with the view of empowering our youth. In future we look forward to broadening our stakeholder list of participants inclusive of Government, Civil Society and Private Sector.
