It was a fantastic weekend of hockey, last week, beginning with a very exciting set of fixtures against Cordwalles on Friday afternoon and evening.
The hockey on display was exceptional, with plenty of exciting and competitive matches across the age groups. Just as impressive, however, was the wonderful atmosphere surrounding the fields. With music playing, braais going and fantastic support from the sidelines, it was a truly festive occasion and an incredible evening to be a part of. – Mr Matthew Coombes (Head of Prep Sport)

The Chamber Choir opened the afternoon with a beautifully controlled set, demonstrating impressive musical maturity and sensitivity throughout their performance. A group of our Form 2 boys proudly represented St Charles College at the Mike Nicholson Maths Fest recently hosted at The Wykeham Collegiate.
The boys who attended were Harry Matthews, Sebastiaan Jordaan, Evan Nieuwoudt, Azariah Saka, Aden van der Berg, Mark Pike, Trédyn Naidoo, Tariq Ramchandra, Dhiash Singh, and Ibrahim El-Alam. The evening was a fantastic celebration of mathematical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving. We are especially proud of our boys' outstanding achievements, with Harry Matthews’ team and Sebastiaan Jordaan’s team tying for 1st place in the group work competition. Harry also achieved an excellent 2nd place individually for the bonus question.
Congratulations to all the boys on representing St Charles College with enthusiasm, teamwork, and distinction. Their excellent results are a testament to their hard work and commitment, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented St Charles College. – Ms Beth Steel

On Friday morning, the Scrummies and Junior Primary Music Recital brought together our youngest musicians for a delightful morning of music making. The recital provided the boys with an opportunity to showcase the skills they have been developing throughout the year in a supportive and encouraging environment.
The programme featured a variety of solo performances, alongside items from the Grade 2 Ukulele and Grade 3 Violin groups. Each performance reflected the boys' enthusiasm, and the enjoyment of making music. The morning was thoroughly enjoyed by the boys and warmly appreciative by an audience of parents, family members, and friends. – Mr Pierre Frenzel (Head of Music)

Today, we celebrate the women who shape, support and inspire our boys every day - their mothers, grandmothers, sisters, teachers, coaches and so many others. 💙💛
“Today we should acknowledge that boys’ and men’s attitudes toward women are not instinctive – they are effectively taught and learned. When men exercise respect for their own wives, partners and daughters, at home, in the workplace and in society, boys learn to treat women in the same way.” - Mr Allen van Blerk (Principal)

Kick off a big weekend of sport at St Charles College! 💙💛
The lights come on for Prep Hockey on Beckett Astro this evening. Tomorrow morning, families come together for Dads & Lads before our footballers take to the field on home soil, and our Sevens teams fly the Blue & Gold flag away from home.
We look forward to seeing you out this weekend, supporting the Saints!
