🌟 *HOLIDAY CLUB PROGRAMME: Education Is My Super Power* 🌟
What an amazing day at the MNCP Centre!
Our holiday programme started with a fun ice-breaker to create a warm and welcoming environment, and then we dived into four powerful lessons:
*1. The 5 Core Values of a Responsible Young Person*
We taught the children that:
Respect opens doors for your future,
Self-Discipline helps you control your emotions and stay focused at school,
Kindness makes you a natural leader,
Honesty builds a trustworthy name, and
Generosity builds strong communities.
*2. The Crowd vs Your Future – Handling Peer Pressure*
We unpacked what peer pressure is and how it can lead to skipping class, fighting and experimenting with drugs. Through our Pressure Line activity, the children realised they are not alone. We equipped them to have their answer ready, to walk away from negative influences, and to choose friends who support their success.
*3. The Power of Education*
We reminded them that education is more than just passing a grade – it is armour that no one can take away. It opens doors to better opportunities, gives you choices to provide for your family, builds critical thinking, and can break the cycle of poverty.
*4. Your Body, Your Future*
We spoke honestly about the importance of refraining from sexual activity at a young age and the risks of emotional confusion, distraction from school, STIs and early parenthood. We also addressed the dangers of drugs – they promise fun but steal your future, damaging health, causing school failure and bringing family pain.
The programme was a great success – the children participated actively throughout and showed a clear understanding of all the values taught.
