Pointing out the reaction/feeling of the one who received the action/behaviorđź’—
We want to ensure children know their choice wasn't appropriate, but this doesn't mean their intent was malicious or that they even understood how their behaviour impacted someone else. What might be more helpful is to point out the impact of their choice on another person:
Example: "Can you see your sister's face? Yes, she's crying. When we hurt other people it makes them sad. I wonder how we can make this right?
We also want to highlight that while the behavior wasn't ok, that doesn't mean we love them any less.
