يا مقلب القلوب ثبت قلوبنا على دينك

O Turner of hearts, keep our hearts firm upon Your religion. Soften what has hardened in us, revive what has grown distant, and protect us from a heart that no longer trembles at Your reminder.

May Allah purify our souls before our days run out, and may this gathering be a witness of goodness for us on the Day we meet Him.

May Allah forgive us, accept from us, and let us return to Him with hearts that are sound.

“Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul.” (91:9)

A beautiful reminder from Shaykh Abu Ayyub حفظه الله at the MSO Iftaar, where he spoke about the importance of nurturing the heart and reflecting upon the Qur’an so that ايمان grows stronger within our hearts.

May Allah preserve our Shaykh, reward everyone who helped organize this gathering, and allow us to be from the people of the Qur’an.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

It is not often that Allah grants us the ability to sit in gatherings of knowledge, especially opportunities that are both accessible and deeply beneficial.

Masjid Ahlul Qur’an Was Sunnah (MAQWS) is hosting an 11-day program during our spring break, where we all have so much time, covering some of the most important foundational books every Muslim should strive to learn. Along with that, there is a rare opportunity to receive ijazaat in these books with sanad — something truly valuable for anyone.

The scholars of the past would travel months across deserts, facing hardship and sacrifice just to hear a single hadith. Today, knowledge comes to us with ease — and all it requires from us is sincerity and effort.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ”
“Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim.”

What better way to spend our free time — especially during this break — than in pursuit of knowledge for the sake of Allah?

Make the intention. Attend, even if for a portion. Bring your family and friends. Sit in the gatherings of knowledge and take hold of these opportunities that may not return.

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قُلُوبَنَا عَلَى دِينِك
O Turner of hearts, keep our hearts steadfast upon Your religion.

Knowledge raises a person in this life and the next — and every step taken toward it is a step toward Allah.
