Success with Watercolor Glazing and Mixing Oregon Art Center
Fridays, Oct. 9-23

This class is for watercolor painters who are frustrated about getting muddy or heavy results in their watercolor paintings. Want to understand more about your individual paints?

In this 3 week class, we’ll dive deep into watercolor pigment characteristics, learn more about color bias and how to setup a watercolor palette with the paints that you have. We’ll explore color glazing strategies to avoid muddy outcomes.

This class is best suited for students who have previous experience with watercolor. Register at oregonartcenter.org

I had a great time teaching Capturing the Light in Watercolor workshop Oregon Art Center this last weekend! Here’s a photo of my demo painting in progress. I asked students to start with a chiaroscuro study so they understood where the light side and shadow side was in their reference photo.

This iris is a demo from my online Intermediate and Advanced Watercolor class this term. We worked on getting a variety of edges in our paintings: hard, soft and lost edges.
