šŸ“£šŸ†2025-2026 Wylie Show and Sale Scholarship winners:

The Wylie Show and Sale Scholarship was established in 1976 through the vision and generosity of Joe G’s Super Drive Inc., Wylie Feed and Seed Store, Wylie 4-H, and the FFA Supporter Club. Their commitment to agricultural education created an opportunity that has impacted generations of Wylie students.
Each year, the Wylie Show and Sale proudly awards four $2,500 scholarships to deserving graduating seniors from Wylie ISD who have demonstrated dedication to agriculture, leadership through FFA, and a passion for continuing their education in an agricultural field or skilled trade.

Applicants for this scholarship complete a detailed application process that includes academic transcripts, teacher recommendations, a resume, and a written essay. Students are also interviewed by agricultural professionals outside of Wylie ISD. Candidates are evaluated on their work ethic, character, years of agricultural involvement, leadership, and commitment to future plans within agriculture or agricultural-related industries.

The purpose of this scholarship is not only to recognize the hard work these students have already demonstrated, but also to support them as they continue their education in agriculture, agricultural business, skilled trades, and related career fields that help feed, clothe, and sustain our communities.

Funds for this scholarship are made possible through the continued support of our community, fundraising efforts, and donations from our Wylie Show and Sale auction. Because of that stewardship, this scholarship will continue to support future generations of agricultural leaders.
This morning, we are proud to recognize four outstanding seniors who exemplify the values of dedication, integrity, leadership, and service that Wylie FFA and 4-H strive to instill.

šŸ“£At this time, we would like to recognize this year’s scholarship recipients:

Jillian Logan
Kolt Wallis
Mimi Erwin
Brooklyn Julius

Each year our chapters vote and recognize individuals for going above and beyond for our program.

Our first community champion for the 2025-2026 show year is: Haden Sherman

This morning we are recognizing someone who doesn’t just show up—but shows up for students. The kind of person who understands that impact isn’t measured in titles or recognition, but in the lives you help shape along the way.

This person is the definition of that kind of leader. Day in and day out, he invests his time, his energy, and his heart into the students around him. He’s not just present—he’s intentional.

If you ask anyone he has mentored or helped, they’ll tell you the same thing—he leads, and he never forgets where he came from.

He understands that being a role model means more than giving advice—it means setting an example.

That kind of impact doesn’t fade—it lasts a lifetime.

Please join me in recognizing a leader, a mentor, and a true Community Champion—Haden Sherman.

Each year our chapters vote and recognize individuals for going above and beyond for our program.

Our next community champions for the 2025-2026 show year are: Marvin and Melisa Fuller

It is our honor to nominate Marvin and Melisa Fuller for the Wylie FFA Community Champion Award. The Fullers have been long-standing pillars of the Wylie community and unwavering supporters of our FFA program for many years.
Their impact reaches far beyond financial contributions—they have invested their time, their leadership, and their hearts into the growth of our students and the success of our program.

Marvin Fuller, President of Inwood National Bank, has been instrumental in supporting our chapter through dependable partnership and financial stewardship. Inwood National Bank has served as the trusted home for our Wylie FFA account, and Marvin has always ensured our program is supported with professionalism, generosity, and a sincere desire to see our students succeed.

Together, Marvin and Melisa have continuously shown up for our youth and our agricultural community. They have served for many years as dedicated members of the Wylie Show & Sale Board, working behind the scenes to help shape and improve one of the most meaningful events in our program. For over a decade, they have volunteered in the auction ring—one of the most demanding yet impactful roles—ensuring our students receive the recognition and support they deserve on sale day.

Their influence extends far beyond the show ring. Marvin and Melisa have been essential in connecting Wylie businesses and community leaders with our program, helping build a strong network of supporters who believe in investing in our future agricultural leaders. Their leadership, advocacy, and relationship-building have helped elevate the visibility of FFA in our community and strengthen the foundation of support our students rely on.

Additionally, their willingness to serve on scholarship interview boards for the Wylie Show & Sale demonstrates their commitment to shaping opportunities for our youth. Their insight and care help guide deserving students toward their next steps in education, service, and leadership.
The Fullers exemplify what it means to be true community champions—steadfast, generous, and wholeheartedly invested in the success of our students and the future of agricultural education in Wylie. Their legacy of service has already touched countless lives, and their continued dedication inspires us all.

For these reasons, and with deep gratitude, we proudly nominate Marvin and Melisa Fuller for the Wylie High FFA Community Champion Award

Dr. David Vinson – 59th Annual Wylie Show & Sale Dedication Honoree:

Dr. David Vinson served as Superintendent of Wylie ISD from 2011–2025, leaving a lasting impact on the district, the community, and especially the Wylie ISD FFA chapters and agricultural education program. During his leadership, Wylie ISD earned consistent ā€œAā€ ratings from TEA, expanded dual-credit opportunities, and successfully completed more than $700 million in bond projects that supported student growth and opportunity.

For our FFA families, Dr. Vinson’s legacy is deeply personal. When the Junior FFA program was housed in the lean-to, he recognized the need for growth and championed the construction of a new swine barn to better serve our students. He supported paving the road leading to the barn — noting that while it might not be traditional to pave a road to a barn, our students deserved facilities that reflected the importance of agricultural education in Wylie ISD.

Under his leadership, the future of agricultural education continues to expand with the addition of a new CTE building at the ag barn site, including plans for a new arena and expanded barn space that will support generations of students and future Wylie Show & Sale events.

Dr. Vinson has consistently demonstrated his commitment to our students by supporting the addition of agricultural science teachers and a barn manager to ensure students receive the guidance, mentorship, and resources needed to be successful in their projects and competitions.

Beyond infrastructure and support, Dr. Vinson has been a visible and enthusiastic champion of our program. Each year, he could be found emceeing the Wylie Show & Sale in one of his signature flashy Wylie western shirts, encouraging our students and celebrating their hard work. He has also never hesitated to jump right into the fun — participating in Old Timers Showmanship events and even allowing himself to be walked around the ring like a show pig by one of our students. That willingness to laugh, participate, and connect with kids is just one example of why he has meant so much to this program.

He has also been known to teach students how to proudly say ā€œGuns Upā€ — often for the price of $1 — showing that even as a Texas Tech graduate, he knows how to make learning fun and memorable.

Dr. Vinson’s belief in the value of agricultural education, leadership development, and student opportunity has helped shape the Wylie FFA program into what it is today. His dedication has created opportunities for students to learn responsibility, perseverance, and pride in their work.

While we are sad you have moved on to new adventures at Conroe ISD, your legacy will remain with our ag program for many, many years. Thank you for your service to our school district and for the lasting impact you have made on our students, families, and community.
