UPDATE: Cia Colvin says it is not a wasp, but a mud dauber! Yay! We can leave it just where it is. Noticed this today in the OC. A wasp bringing dried grass to one of our reed wind chimes, and the grass slowly disappearing into the reed as it built a nest. Wasps are no fun in an outdoor classroom and the nest will be moved to a place where it cannot hurt the students, but it was still quite a moment, and fascinating to watch. #scbSoManyCoolThingsHappeningAllTheTimeInTheGarden 03/29/2024
