We graphed our data and noticed that the population increased steadily until day 15 and then it leveled off. From this we concluded that the population had reached the carrying capacity of the container and no longer had the space, light, and nutrients that it needed to continue to multiply.

One of the things that we study in APES is population. To further understand some of the ways that populations grow, we did an experiment with duckweed, an aquatic plant. Duckweed is a floating plant that lives in ponds and swamps across the Southern United States.

Working in groups, we started by putting 10 duckweed plants into small containers and placing them under the plant grow lights.
