For Mr. Todd Dixon, band was always about more than music. It was about building character, creating belonging, and preparing students for life.

During his 29-year career in education—including 18 years as Director of Bands at Wylie High School—Mr. Dixon transformed That Wylie Band into a family rooted in camaraderie, service, hard work, and dedication.

Under his leadership, TWB achieved extraordinary success, including the 2023 President’s Cup Silver Medal, performances at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Conference and Music for All National Festival, 18 consecutive First Division ratings at both UIL Marching and Concert & Sight Reading contests, five advancements to the TMEA State Honor Band recording contest, and six appearances at the UIL State Marching Championships.
But Mr. Dixon’s greatest accomplishments cannot be measured by trophies or ratings.

His students learned integrity, commitment, time management, humility, perseverance, and what it meant to be part of something bigger than themselves. And with his familiar “Love ya!” at the end of rehearsals, he made sure his students knew they were valued and supported.

The TWB Todd Dixon Legacy Scholarship honors that remarkable impact by supporting students who reflect the same character and principles Mr. Dixon spent his career instilling in generations of musicians.
Through the Wylie ISD Education Foundation, this scholarship ensures that his influence will continue long after the final note of rehearsal.

For nearly three decades, Mr. Todd Dixon dedicated his career to music education, including 18 years as Director of Bands for That Wylie Band at Wylie High School. His impact reached far beyond performances and competitions—he created a culture of camaraderie, service, dedication, and family that shaped countless students.

Under Mr. Dixon’s leadership, That Wylie Band achieved remarkable success, including appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Conference, the Music for All National Festival, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, and multiple UIL State Marching Championships. The band also earned 18 consecutive First Division ratings at both the UIL Concert & Sight Reading Contest and UIL Marching Contest.

But his greatest legacy can be found in the students he inspired and his unwavering commitment to artistic excellence.
The TWB Dixon Composition Initiative Grant was established to ensure that legacy continues. Through this endowment, new wind band compositions are commissioned from prominent composers, giving That Wylie Band the opportunity to participate in consortium projects and contribute to the future of concert band literature.

These original works will provide new musical experiences for students, challenge future musicians, and continue advancing the artistic excellence Mr. Dixon championed throughout his career.
Through the Wylie ISD Education Foundation, this endowment ensures his passion for music education will continue to be heard for generations to come.

For the Pecoy family, engineering is more than a profession—it is a field that has profoundly impacted their lives and one they believe holds incredible possibilities for the future.

The Pecoy Family Endowment was established to inspire and support Wylie ISD students who share that passion.
Recognizing the important role engineers play in solving problems, driving innovation, and shaping the world around us, the Pecoys wanted to help the next generation take the first step toward careers in engineering.

Through this scholarship, seniors from Wylie High School and Wylie East High School are encouraged to pursue their educational goals in engineering and develop the skills and knowledge needed to tackle real-world challenges.

The endowment also reflects the Pecoy family's belief in giving back to the community that has meant so much to them. By investing in education today, they are helping students turn their interests into opportunities, their ideas into solutions, and their dreams into meaningful careers.

Through the Wylie ISD Education Foundation, the Pecoy Family Endowment ensures that this support will continue for future generations of Wylie ISD students.
