Every Piece Matters. Every Path Shines. 🪩💖⚡🌵🪩

This message perfectly✨ represents what I believe about students.

A disco ball isn’t made from one perfect piece. It’s made from hundreds of small pieces that come together to create something that shines.

Our students are the same way.💫

Every class, every challenge, every accomplishment, every job shadow, every dual credit course, every scholarship application, every career interest, every military pathway, and every college application becomes part of their story.

Not every student will follow the same path, and that’s exactly how it should be.

I believe every piece matters and every path shines. Whether a student chooses college, a career, the military, or a combination of opportunities, their journey deserves to be celebrated.

The goal isn’t for everyone to have the same future.

The goal is for every student to build a future that fits them.🤩

🪩 Keep adding the pieces.
💖 Keep believing in your potential.
⚡ Keep creating opportunities.
🌵 Keep growing through every season.
🪩 Keep shining.

🎓 4 College Admissions Terms Every Student & Parent Should Know

As students move closer to the college application process, understanding these four terms can completely change how you approach high school and college planning.

✨ Holistic Review Process Colleges look at more than just grades and test scores. They consider course rigor, activities, leadership, work experience, essays, recommendations, and personal experiences to understand the whole student.

📊 Common Data Set (CDS) Think of this as a college’s admissions playbook. It reveals acceptance rates, test score ranges, and what admissions offices value most when reviewing applications.

🎯 Demonstrated Interest This goes beyond attending a campus tour. It means showing commitment to your future goals through the classes you take, the activities you participate in, leadership roles, internships, volunteer work, and meaningful engagement with colleges.

🏫 School Profile Your high school sends a school profile with your transcript. This document helps colleges understand your academic environment, available courses, grading system, and opportunities so they can evaluate your accomplishments in context.

🔗 How They Work Together The Common Data Set tells you what colleges value. Demonstrated interest helps you show alignment with your future goals. The school profile provides the context behind your achievements. Together, they become part of the holistic review process that colleges use to evaluate applicants.

Understanding these concepts early can help students make more strategic decisions throughout high school and build a stronger application long before senior year arrives.

🎓 Common App Tip: One Activity ≠ One Entry

Spent years building an activity? Take a closer look before you lump everything into a single spot on your application.

If your roles and responsibilities were distinctly different, you may be able to showcase them as separate activities to better highlight your impact.

💡 Examples:

⭐ National Honor Society
• NHS Leadership & Membership
• Community Service & Volunteer Initiatives

🍪 Girl Scouts
• Troop Leadership & Participation
• Gold Award Project

🏕️ Boy Scouts
• Troop Leadership & Advancement
• Eagle Scout Project

🏐 Volleyball
• School Volleyball
• Club Volleyball

🏈 Football
• School Football
• Youth Camp Leadership

🎭 Theater
• Performance
• Technical Theater or Stage Management

The key is not adding activities just to fill space. The key is accurately capturing your leadership, service, competition, and contributions.

Too many students sell themselves short by cramming years of involvement into one entry. Make sure colleges see the full picture of what you’ve accomplished.

💛💛💛💛

She remembers the days when she had big dreams, believed anything was possible, and hoped for a future that felt beautiful and safe. That is why she keeps showing up even on difficult days. She works through the quiet seasons, keeps going when progress feels slow, and chooses not to give up even when nobody notices her effort. Every step, every sacrifice, and every small win becomes part of the promise she made years ago. She is not only working for what she wants today, she is becoming the person her younger self once looked up to. One day she will look back and realize she kept her promise and made that little girl proud. ✨💛

✨ CREDIT TIP FOR FAMILIES ✨

A credit score isn’t built overnight, but smart decisions made early can make a huge difference later.

Adding a responsible teen as an authorized user on a well-managed credit card may help them start establishing credit history before adulthood. 💳

The key? The account must be used responsibly. Consistent on-time payments and low balances matter.

Financial literacy is a life skill every student needs. The earlier they learn how credit works, the more prepared they’ll be for major milestones like renting an apartment, buying a car, or qualifying for better loan rates in the future.
