THE PTA of P.S. 4 is devastated over the loss of our beloved Security Officer Richie. Richie was not only our security officer but a dear friend to all. His dedication to our school and love for all the students, family and staff at P.S. 4 will never be forgotten. He was very proud to be a part of our school. He greeted you each day with a smile, had a kind heart and made each day at P.S.4 bright. All who knew him loved him. This is a tremendous loss to our P.S.4 family. Thank you for always being a shining light and our protector. Richie you will always remain forever in our hearts and will always be a part of the Maurice Wollin family.

With great sadness, I must pass on a message from our Principal, Mrs. DiMitri:



Dear P.S. 4 Families,

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to inform you of the passing of our beloved security agent, Richie Chin. His kindness, humor, and love for our children, families, and staff made him so much more than our security agent. We have lost a dear member of our family.

Let us honor Richie by striving to live as he did, showing kindness and love to everyone he encountered.

This loss will impact our children and many of our parents. No matter how you are feeling, please know that support is available. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need support or help with how to share the news with your child.

Parents/ Guardians and Families,
NYC schools will be closed as of Monday March 16th, 2020 until a tentative date of April 20, 2020. If you have any questions regarding if the school will be going to on-line learning, meals, child care or if you need a sign up code for account to log into the DOE website please contact our Parent Coordinator Jen Wilson via e-mail or by phone starting Tuesday March17th, 2020 and she will be able to assist you. If you have any questions regarding class specific assignments etc. please e-mail your child's teacher.
The P.T.A. sends well wishes to all our P.S.4 staff, families and students during these trying times. Stay Safe!

Tomorrow is the last day to send in the someone special bowling. If you would like to attend on March 8th please send in payment by tomorrow Friday February 28th.

The deadline is approaching for yearbook ads. Placing an ad in the yearbook is a great memory for you and your child. Your child does not have to be in the graduating class in order to place an ad. The yearbook ad dedications is open to everyone. The are many different ad levels and prices, you can write a word of encouragement with a few lines to purchasing an entire page with pictures of your child throughout the years with a special message from, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa brother or sister anyone can place an ad.

Thank you to all the volunteers and the 5th Grade committee for making our 5th grade dance a success!!!!! The gym looked beautiful and the kids looked great!!!! Hope everyone had fun!!!!! Your hard work and dedication to our students is greatly appreciated by all!!!!!
