This week we’ve been focusing on timing — playing along with a live rhythm guitar so we learn how to truly play music with other musicians (not just to a backing track).

Just one of the great ways we teach our students their way around the guitar fretboard. Learning simple but iconic vocal melodies helps students visualize where the notes lay on the guitar.

We can’t think of a more fun way to memorize your guitar scales than this. And the proof is in the sound 😃🎸

James is focusing on his rhythm with quarter note timing while playing in live time with the track. Next up comes learning the eighth note palm mutes and building stamina to keep up with these classic punk rock hits 🤘🎸

Jack is working on proper finger movement while playing along to a melody we all know and love.

Next week, we’ll add a drum track to build timing and bring the song to life — because great playing is about confidence, coordination, and consistency.
