Juniors & Parents/Guardians of Juniors: The RHS Guidance Department will be hosting a Junior Information Night presentation on Thursday, March 12th at 5:00pm in the RHS theater. The presentation will include information about the college planning process and the timeline for senior year. All juniors and their families are welcome and encouraged to attend!

On February 9th from 5:30-7PM, stronger connections is providing a Grief Presentation at the Rutland Middle School Library. Kris Francouer will be sharing her story about the loss of a loved one and her journey moving forward. Susanne Engels, will talk about the impact of grief and pathways to move forward.

The deadline to register for CCV dual enrollment credit is Friday, January 16th.
AP Biology, AP Chemistry and AP Physics students:
The deadline to register for VTSU dual enrollment credit is Friday, January 30th.
Please discuss the use of dual enrollment vouchers and enrolling for credit with your parents. Information about how to register for the college credit is in your google classroom and on announcements

Students and Guardians/Parents: Financial Aid Forms Completion Assistance is Available! Brockton Corbett, our VSAC counselor, will be available on Wednesday, January 14th in the RHS library to meet with students/guardians to help with completing the FAFSA and Vermont grant applications. Parents and students will need to sign up with Sarah May in the guidance office for an appointment. ([email protected]) Appointment times will be between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Parents/students will need to have their FSA ID's with them along with student and parent tax forms/income information. Financial aid forms are online so bringing a laptop to the meeting is helpful. Please contact the guidance office with questions about this opportunity.

Stafford Technical Center Career Night- On Thursday, December 4th from 6-7:30 STC is hosting a career night. Learn more about the opportunities that exist at Stafford. Program instructors and current students will be on hand to share how Stafford programs can help students reach their college and career goals.

Students and Guardians/Parents: Financial Aid Information & Forms Completion Night, Wednesday, November 19th at 6:00 PM. A VSAC Outreach Counselor will be hosting two presentations on Wednesday, November 19th. Beginning at 6:00 pm in Red 13 & Red 14 there will be a Financial Aid and Managing College Costs overview of the different types of financial aid available and how to manage college costs. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about resources available to help pay for college (open to all grades).
At 6:30 pm we will move into a Financial Aid Forms Completion workshop where parents of seniors can receive help completing financial aid forms including FAFSA (if available at time of meeting), the Vermont grant, and CSS Profile. Parents and students attending the Forms Completion workshop should have their FSA ID's with them along with student and parent tax forms/income information. Financial aid forms are online so bringing a laptop to the meeting is helpful (we will have some that can be used for this event as well).

Drop/add deadlines: The deadline to drop or add a class is Thursday, September 4th for a term (quarter length) class and Thursday, September 11th for a semester or year long class. After these dates a "WP" or "WF" will be added to your transcript for withdrawing from a class after the deadline. Please contact your counselor with any questions.
