Ride Ready! Bus Safety Starts With You!

As we gear up for the new school year, Bus Driver Mike and Officer Ernie teamed up with some of our Rutland City Public Schools students to share a few essential tips for a safe, smooth ride on the big yellow bus.

3 Quick Tips for Students:

🛑 Wait Safely: Stand back from the road and wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before approaching. If you are crossing in front of the bus, make sure that the driver can see you! If you can't see them clearly, then they can't see you.

✋ Keep Aisles Clear: Stay seated facing forward, with all hands, legs, and backpacks tucked safely out of the center aisle.

🤝 Use Handrails: Always hold the railing when getting on and off the bus stairs!

Help us keep our students safe by reviewing these simple rules with your family before Day 1. What’s your student’s favorite part about riding the bus?
