Dear Provider:
When I think of Provider Appreciation Day, (PAD) I can’t help but smile! OH MY WORD is there a special day dedicated to us? Is this real?
But honestly… as excited as I am, I also feel hesitation and doubt. Would daycare families acknowledge this day? Would anybody say thank you? Do they even know PAD exists!?!?
Perhaps you are like me: you want to be excited yet you don’t want to be disappointed.
Now what?
Let me share a SURVIVAL GUIDE TO PAD. Here are my 5 best tips for surviving Provider Appreciation Day:
1️⃣ Remind yourself how FABULOUS you are. Today is YOUR day and you are worth celebrating! Don’t feel bad about it! Not even for a second. You matter! So, treat yourself to something you love. Shopping spree? Starbucks? New purse? Steak dinner? Uninterrupted nap time? Bubble bath? Go for it!
2️⃣ Remember, some people are not good at saying “thank you” or showing recognition. Don’t let them ruin your day. Wipe your tears, eat an extra cupcake and celebrate anyway! Okay?
3️⃣ Recognize that providers will be posting pictures of their cards, gifts and flowers on social media. If that’s going to be hard on you, stay off social media today. Don’t let what other providers got ruin your day.
4️⃣ Read cards or notes you may receive today and believe the nice things your daycare families say about you. It is truly such an honor to be recognized as a daycare provider who works hard! It’s your day to shine!
5️⃣ Relax, it’s FRIDAY! Do I need to say more!?!? TGIF!!! Enjoy your weekend, sweet friends!
And just like that you have 5 tips to help you survive today! Do you have anything to add to this list?
But more than anything…
I celebrate YOU today, all your hard work and the difference you make in this world!
Thank you for being simply the best, kindest and most caring people on this planet!
Cheers to ALL OF YOU, my Fabulous Providers!
xoxo,
Sylvie
