Franciscan Montessori Earth School

As we finish up our E2 season, and as we approach our 50th anniversary here at FMES, let's start our historical perspective by remembering that the E2 has always been an integral part of our school. Here's a photo of the very first E2, which was held at the Sister's home in Bridal Veil. Also a shot of one of another early E2 at Oxbow park. What a legacy!

In 2008, as a memorial for the mother of our Foundress, Mother Francine Cardew, the original Cob Structure in the courtyard between the buildings and covered area was built.
Recently, work was begun to refresh the entire structure.
This work is going to progress for the next several weeks, but in the meantime, here is a glimpse of Middle School students helping to build the original structures in 2008, plus some of the work going on currently. (Still with student involvement!)
Just one of many projects being done in anticipation of our coming 50th anniversary!

Our Annual Auction, Under the Big Top, was a tremendous event! Our thanks to all of you who came, helped, or contributed to this amazing event. We have already passed $110,000, all thanks to your generosity!

Tomorrow we celebrate the Birthday of our School President, Sister Therese Gutting.
Since she came in 2012, she has worked every day to make the Earth School a better place for all. She wears many, many hats, and she wears them all with grace and good humor. Whether teaching religion in the Middle School, or greeting you in the morning, she gives her all every day.
