On April 25, the Alliance Française de Portland proudly presented the second edition of Night of Ideas Portland 2026: Mapping Ideas, Charting Futures — a day dedicated to reflection, dialogue, art, film, and civic engagement. ✨
From a guided exhibition tour exploring how we map identity, memory, and belonging, to a powerful panel discussion on education as liberation, and an inspiring screening of "La Voie royale", followed by a discussion, the day invited our community to reflect on how knowledge, access, and critical thinking shape democratic participation.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible — our speakers, moderators, partners, organizers, volunteers, and attendees.
Special thanks to Dr. Adam Goldstein, Elijah Joshua, Megan Sinclair, Douglas Siegel, Dr. Jennifer Perlmutter , Marisa Robertson-Textor , Dr. Annabelle Dolidon , Elene Zedginidze, and Celeste Johnson for their contributions to this meaningful day of exchange and dialogue.
We are also grateful to the .sf, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at PSU and Portland State University Department of World Languages & Literatures for their partnership.
Events like these remind us that Alliance Françaises are not only places of learning — they are also places of encounter, dialogue, and collective imagination.
