If you need to cool off during this heat wave, libraries are a wonderful option and several in our county will stay open longer to provide relief.

Update for June 15: Due to the severe weather, cooling services are available at Albina Library, Central Library, East County Library and Midland Library until 8 pm today, Monday, June 15.

Please note: East County Library will be open from 6pm to 8pm as a cooling space only. Library services will not be available after 6 pm.

Libraries will not be able to provide emergency services. A complete list of resources and cool spaces is available on the County’s Help for When It’s Hot web page. Please check the hours and locations page for the latest information on hours and operations at the link in our comments.

As summer is coming, wouldn't it be great if every beach and park had a library like this 😍.

End of school is near. Make sure your students keep reading. Here are some summer programs that might help. Also check your local library, they have a great summer reading program.

Summer reading just got WAY more exciting for kids 📚☀️✨

There are so many awesome summer reading programs this year where kids can earn FREE books, pizza, play points, meals, and more just for reading! 🙌

I rounded up some of the best freebies from places like Barnes & Noble, Chuck E. Cheese, Panda Express, Pizza Hut, Scholastic, and more to help keep kids reading all summer long without it feeling like homework. 💕

These programs are such a fun (and FREE) way to encourage reading while school is out!
