Continuing with our instructor introductions, Daniel Vega is a composer and saxophonist exploring the intersections between contemporary music, humor, and nonviolent dissent. Drawing from the late Pauline Oliveros, he believes that participatory, improvisatory sonic meditations for large crowds of people can be applied to interrupt oppressive regimes and facilitate unity among people.

Daniel currently holds a Bachelors of Music Composition from Portland State University, where he studied under eminent composers and performers such as Renee Favand-See and Bonnie Miksch.

Daniel is a piano and saxophone instructor at Birdsong Studios.

Alex Trull has been teaching voice lessons for over 3 years. During his two-year Graduate Teaching Assistantship at PSU, Alex taught the beginner voice class for non-majors, and served as an assistant director in the opera workshop class. Alex was also on staff at PSU as a voice teacher last summer and he currently works with jazz faculty as a vocal technician.

Alex is excited to be teaching voice for Birdsong Studios and looks forward to making music with his students. Eric Johnson is a guitarist, vocalist, music producer and performing artist in the Portland area.
Eric has earned degrees in music and broadcast production. His specialties are and , as well as education in those subjects. He has taught in these disciplines for 30+ years. Eric has played and or studied with many great artists and offers a wholistic understanding of music, performance and understanding the fretboard. Meet Lainey. Her primary instrument is voice, her first instrument was piano, and Lainey teaches both at .

Lainey speaks Spanish and some Brazilian Portuguese and can teach how to sing in these languages as well. Lainey's piano experience is also classically based, but she can teach other styles, music theory, and even songwriting.

Lainey is also a board-certified music therapist, and uses her clinical training and musical skills to enhance the experience of lessons, seeing each student as a whole person and not only as a vocalist/instrumentalist.
