I made a video for my old bass player’s sons on what I consider the most important exercises to start working on your ear. Even in music school I had a weak ear compared to my peers, and it wasn’t until I started working on tonic/key based ear-training (I just think of it as solfege), that I started making real gains. But after a few weeks, I couldn’t believe how much I improved. Hopefully this will help some of you, too! Cheers!

If anyone is interested in learning how to play guitar and wants a decent instrument that's not too expensive, this looks like a great place to start.

Also, I think an electric guitar is better to start on than an acoustic if someone is interested in playing both. It's better to focus on the finger dexterity and independence first before dealing with all the extra strength that an acoustic requires.
