Fort season in full swing.

Tis’ the season.

I typically do self portraits in the very beginning of the school year. We’re talking nose to the grindstone first week of school. This year, probably because of the move, my energy was in other places. So here we were, mid November doing our early September sharpie on white card stock versions of self portraits. What I have found is really remarkable. The children are way more comfy. Their work was highly focused. They watched their peers work closely and commented sincerely on their friends process. I sat back. I observed and participated minimally. Gratitude for busy Septembers and slow learning November and so much in-between.

If one would have asked me in my 20’s, or even 30’s if I’d ever have lace curtains I’m certain the answer would have been a firm no. Can’t get enough in my 40’s (photo 3 is my personal kitchen)…

We officially have an office/break room. At the old PPP teachers we’re always scrambling to find a place to breathe. I found them in hallways. The stairwell. Their car. Sitting in the room next to the children who were, well, being children. It’s taken me many months to get there, but after a weekend of motivation (fueled by great nights of sleep and self care and the fact that parent teacher conferences are right around the corner), I present to you, our cozy adult only space. 😍😍😍😍😍

Dreams do come true. Been eying work for years and to have it on the shed at the preschool?! SO DREAMY. Week one in the books. So much gratitude for all of the folks that are a part of this community. Today esp thankful for the families, the teachers and Lettie.
