AYCO Community Health Awareness February is American Heart Month, so awareness of this issue is crucial. Cardiovascular Disease is one of the deadliest diseases, and according to the Center for Disease Control, the mortality rate is increasing in working-age adults. Ahlam and Halimo had a great time representing AYCO at the CAIRO career fair! We were so happy to see many recognizable faces 🥰

AYCOWORLD Career development fair was a success! About 40 students came, and they got to listen to the stories of 4 panelists. Each panelist touched on the challenges they've had to overcome throughout their career and as a youth. They also gave advice and networking tips and offered to be mentors. Thanks to Ahlam for organizing and, of course, to our UPLIFT team, Ahmed, Sumaya, and Nuradin, for helping plan this. These are the next leaders of our community and society, and we can't wait to see what they accomplish.

The Community Economic Development (CED) is a community-driven process where the community AYCO serves to identify and initiate their own solutions to economic, social, and environmental issues to build healthy, economically viable communities. Derived from AYCO’s Mission, the Community Economic Development (CED)’s primary focus is to empower and educate refugees by providing sustainable, diverse economic support and offering information and resources. In doing so, the CED department fosters a culture of enterprise and innovation among community members to give them equitable access to the competitive local economy.
