Today OWCS wants to give a shout out to Board Co-Chair Emeritus Kimberly Koops-Wrabek!
Kimberly currently works in government relations for the University of Oregon, where she works with students and alumni to advocate for student aid and research. Before working in higher ed, she spent nearly a decade working in reproductive rights policy and advocacy, including as the Political Director for a statewide ballot measure campaign to protect abortion access. She earned a law degree from the University of Oregon and a BA in politics and government from Pacific University. Kimberly lives in Oregon with her spouse, Matthew, and cat, Imelda Meowcos.
Thank you for being one of our leaders, Kimberly. We hope you will all join us on Jan 22nd for the Oregon Womxn's Campaign School. Sign up here: https://bit.ly/3zahTCn

"For months, abortion bans made national headlines, in large part thanks to Texas. The state passed a law banning abortion at six weeks, the point at which doctors could detect fetal cardiac activity, and allowed any private citizen to sue a doctor or person aiding or abetting someone seeking an abortion for at least $10,000 dollars a procedure."
In Oregon, we're lucky to have leaders who have enshrined abortion rights in state statute, and who have fought back against attempts to roll back reproductive rights. Want to join the fight to protect abortion access? Attend the Oregon Womxn's Campaign School on January 22, 2022! Register here: https://bit.ly/3EipPT0
Opinion: What the Texas abortion decision portends for reproductive rights
On Friday, the Supreme Court seemed to have sided in part with abortion providers challenging a Texas law banning abortions at six weeks, determining that providers could still sue in federal court. “By attending the 2018 Oregon Women's Campaign School, I connected so many personal & professional dots through the lens of reproductive justice, including meeting the future team I’d be working with to defend abortion access on the Oregon ballot by defeating Measure 106.”
Lindsey Sadlou (She/They) graduated from the Oregon Women’s Campaign School in 2018, where she gleaned from professional advocates, campaign staff, and elected officials how to lead winning values-driven field campaigns. She was proud to serve on the OWCS board from 2019-2021. Lindsey currently works as the Field Director for Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon, where she leads a kickass team that works to grow the movement for sexual & reproductive health care & education across Oregon.
