Even snails need shade on a sunny day!

I was cleaning out the weatherproof outdoor storage cabinets this past weekend and at the bottom of the paper bins I found artwork from children who are now in middle school. To my former preschoolers -- I do still think of you and hope that you are still carrying the lessons and connections from Wildwood Nature School with you.

Last week I did a workshop for the Oregon Head Start Association on using nature to build fine motor skills. These little lawn mowers have it all figured out!

Fabulous fungi! We love spotting unusual fungi in the fall forest. Dead man's fingers (we just call them finger fungi with the children) are some of the coolest in our forest. What cool fungi do you have access to?
