🐞 Exploring the Life Cycle of the Ladybug 🐞

Our students have been carefully observing ladybug larvae as we study the fascinating life cycle of the ladybug. Using a homemade habitat with straws, sticks, and a sponge for water, the children are learning how to thoughtfully care for tiny living creatures while watching the transformation unfold. 🌱

Through this hands-on experience, they are honing their observation skills, deepening their understanding of life cycles, and developing empathy and respect for animals and nature. πŸ’›

✨ Nothing quite like relaxing with friends while listening to a good book. πŸ’›πŸ“š
These quiet moments of connection, imagination, and shared stories are such a meaningful part of the day. Reading aloud to children is one of the most important ways to build early literacy skills, including vocabulary expansion and reading readiness. 🌱

✨ Montessori Teens Boards Extension ✨
The Teens Boards help children build a concrete understanding of numbers 11–19 by combining quantity, number recognition, and language in a hands-on way. πŸŒ±πŸ”’
This extension takes the learning one step further by inviting children to practice writing the numbers on paper with pencil. ✏️ Through this work, they strengthen number formation, pencil grip, fine motor skills, concentration, and confidence while reinforcing their understanding of teen numbers.πŸ’›

✨ We love creating an environment where children can learn and work in the ways that work best for them. ✨
Whether working on the floor, at a table with a chair, at a floor table, using a standing table, sitting on a wobble cushion. Children choosing their flexible seating, gives them the freedom to find comfort, focus, and confidence in their work. πŸ’›
Incorporating flexible seating and sensory accommodations helps meet individual needs while encouraging independence, concentration, and joyful learning. 🌱πŸͺ‘πŸ§

πŸ±πŸ’• Sometimes when one teacher is away, the other teacher invites the children to collaborate on a special teacher appreciation surprise!
This thoughtful masterpiece included LOTS of cats… because the teacher receiving it likes cats 🐈✨ Many thanks to the children, who poured so much care, creativity, and joy into every detail. 🎨πŸ₯°

✨ That time of year when we pause and reflect on the incredible growth that has happened since the beginning of the year β€” and for some, since almost two years ago. ✨
Watching these children strengthen their pincher grip, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, concentration, and perseverance has been such a joy. The small moments add up to tremendous growth, and it’s amazing to see their confidence bloom along the way. πŸ’›
Every bead threaded, every puzzle completed, every careful movement and determined effort tells a story of learning, growth, and resilience. πŸŒ±πŸ–οΈπŸ§©

For Earth Day we created and grew our own β€œearths” with cardboard, cotton balls and chia seeds. This was a great project that required the whole class to cooperate and share the tasks.
This fun project involved talented painters, skilled tracers for drawing the continents, careful scissor skills, expert gluers, seed rationing and water resource managers.
It was so fun to watch our β€œearths” grow and change each day from slimy chia seeds to white sprouts, green shoots and finally our green leaves popped out today.
