Congratulations to Dr. Sandra Weiss, PhD, DNSc, RN, FAAN, Professor and Robert C. and Delphine Wentland Eschbach Chair in Mental Health, UCSF School of Nursing, on being named the recipient of WIN’s 2026 Distinguished Research Lectureship Award. This prestigious annual award recognizes a senior investigator whose research career has made substantial and sustained contributions to nursing and to WIN. Dr. Weiss will deliver her address at WIN's annual conference in April. WIN is accepting abstracts for presentation at the conference now through October 15. https://lnkd.in/gGZZtxCA

WIN is pleased to announce that 6 distinguished nurse leaders will be inducted into the Western Academy of Nurses (WAN) in 2025. Established in 1989, the Western Academy of Nurses recognizes nurses who have been actively engaged in WIN over a number of years and who have demonstrated excellence in nursing research, practice, and/or education. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Dr. Jane Lassetter, PhD, RN, FAAN, Dean and Professor of BYU College of Nursing, on being named the recipient of WIN’s 2024 Jo Eleanor Elliott Leadership Award. The Jo Eleanor Elliott Leadership Award was established in 1988 to recognize nurses who have been actively involved in WIN and have provided outstanding leadership to the organization. Dr. Lassetter served on WIN’s Board of Governors from 2013 to 2023 and served as WIN President from 2020 to 2022. Dr. Lassetter has served on WIN’s Nominating Committee, Membership Committee, and Development Committee and represented WIN at the 2021 National Nursing Research Roundtable (NNRR) meeting with NINR, which was co-sponsored by WIN. Dr. Lassetter will be recognized at WIN’s annual awards lunch that will be held during the 2024 conference in April.
