Hello everyone! It's been so long. Currently I am in the process of becoming a Certified Medical Interpreter and hopefully, Court Interpreter! I have also decided to start offering online Spanish classes again to those interested! Language grows slowly, during the quarantine I have to remind myself happiness and motivation to learn are a daily effort. It can even be a song that you sing in your target language. Let out your frustration, anger, and sadness in the language you are learning. French singing has been an outlet for me during this time of trying patience.

Motivation and the reason behind you learning your target language is crucial! I am currently reading a book about the Camino De Santiago, because it’s been a dream for many years to walk the pilgrimage. My motivation is what pushes me to continue to learn more :)

I have only begun my journey with learning Portuguese, similar to my journey here in Portland. It takes years to learn and fully explore a new city, and there is always more you can find if you keep looking. Language learning is very similar, after 13 years of speaking Spanish I am still learning more everyday :)

Training your body is similar to training your mind to learn languages. Once you add it to your everyday life, you can’t get enough. The endorphins keep your body going, and the brain activation leaves your mind wanting more. Keep it up, even if it’s something small everyday :)

Even though I am constantly learning new medical vocabulary, court terminology and working side gigs.... I have learned in the past year it’s also important to have a little fun to keep the balance :)
