Sooo, let’s step back for a moment and look at how these notions of “normal” came about in the first place.
French sociologist – Emile Durkheim, 1858 – 1917 talked about the science of social facts (things that don’t change) maintain society.
People measure the appropriateness of their actions by how far away they are from those social norms.
Identities are mentally created that conform to societal standards and norms.
What happens to our children when we measure them against social norms?
