Friends of Hatfield Speaker Series: March 26, 2025 6:00-7:30
Smith Memorial Student Union Room 327/328
The Mark O. Hatfield School of Government is excited to invite you to its second annual Friends of Hatfield Speaker Series. In this event we will welcome Michael Jordan, Portland's City Administrator, to learn how the city has navigated the transition to its new form of government, and what lessons were learned in the process. Moderated by Martha Bennett, Lake Oswego's City Manager, we will look at what leadership challenges and opportunities lie ahead for Mr. Jordan and his leadership team, and what he might have to say to our current students who aspire to become the next generation of public servants.
Food and drinks will be provided, and all members of the community are welcome to attend at no cost.

On March 20 from 4:30 to 6 p.m., our friends at SAGE will host a webinar entitled “Let’s Build Complete Communities.” At this free digital gathering, experts Chris Crockett, Bill Cunningham, Sarah Iannarone, and Alan DeLaTorre will discuss strategies in Portland and beyond to develop and strengthen complete communities — ones where folks can access everything they need within a close circle and connect with creative public spaces that increase social engagement and connection.
By nurturing more complete communities, we can strengthen economies and deliver lasting health, well-being, equity, and climate benefits wherever people live, work and play, no matter their age, race, gender, or disability status. Please register to reserve your spot today. https://wearesage.org/event/lets-build-complete-communities-for-today-and-tomorrow/
