Spark Arts Center is a neighborhood arts oasis that honors the creative process, nurtures the imagination, and builds confidence through self-expression. A community enrichment space, Spark has resources for artists of all ages—from preschool drop-in studio to structured classes for children and teens to workshop and happy hour events for adults. Founded and run by working artists, Spark’s classes

span various media, from illustration, painting, and cartooning to photography to pottery, paper mache, and sculpture. Spark also has gallery and event space, curates parties for all ages, and features a broad range of supplies and products.

After 9 great years of creative partnership in NE Portland we have made the difficult decision to close our doors this August. We have so appreciated the community support over the years, and with your help we were able to stay open during the pandemic and continue to offer services.

Thank you for entrusting your children to us for classes and camps. The best part of Spark has always been the kids and their families and the time we've had together to explore, create and celebrate! We will miss the "spark" that happens when kids (and adults) are given the space to build and create.

Please feel free to stop by and say hello, and goodbye, over the summer. We are still having summer camps in our studio and selling art supplies (at a discount!) and would love to see you.

Thank you for your support over the years, it has been an honor to be a part of the creative community in NE Portland.
