Our alumni are taking over campus this summer! ☀️🐉📋

We are thrilled to welcome back so many of our amazing PJA alumni. You can spot these familiar faces working hard and bringing the camp spirit to life as counselors for both PJA Summer Discovery and MJCC Day Camp.

Seeing our former students step into leadership roles right here, where they grew up, makes us . It’s a great reminder of how the values, community, and friendships formed at PJA continue with them beyond our walls. We love watching them pass that knowledge on to the next generation of campers!

Join Us for a Special Presentation: Jews and the American Revolution in the Kaplan Collection of Early American Judaica

We are pleased to share an upcoming educational opportunity in our community. On Tuesday, July 14, at 7:00 pm, Laura Newman Eckstein will be speaking at Neveh Shalom in the Stampfer Chapel.

Drawing on materials from the Arnold and Deanne Kaplan Collection of Early American Judaica, this presentation examines Jewish participation in and experience of the American Revolution. Far beyond the familiar image of patriotic support, these manuscripts and printed works show Jews sustaining religious life during wartime, financing soldiers and military needs, supplying the Continental Army, helping raise revenue for the revolutionary cause, posting bail in politically charged treason cases, and maintaining commercial networks despite the disruptions of occupation and war. Taken together, these sources present Jews as active participants in the struggle for independence and in the preservation of communal life under extraordinary conditions.

Inspired by the courage and leadership of Miriam, these incredible women are shaping the future of our community! 🎶✡️👏

We are bursting with pride for the amazing PJA parents and grandparents who were honored at the annual Song of Miriam Awards Brunch, presented by the Jewish Women’s Round Table! Since 1993, this beautiful tradition has celebrated women across Oregon and SW Washington for their volunteerism, dedication to Jewish life, and living out our shared values.

This year, we are thrilled to recognize five remarkable women from our very own community: Michelle Kashinsky, Jaimie Harper, Arielle Goranson, Pauline Goldstein, and Shoshannah Freilich. These phenomenal leaders serve as shining examples of kehillah (community) for our younger generations, inspiring our students and community members every single day with their tireless dedication and passion.

Swipe to see these wonderful PJA parents and grandparents together! Thank you for everything you do, and a huge Mazel Tov to all of this year's honorees! 🥂✨

Campfire stories and coastal adventures! 🌊🌲🏕️

School might be out for the summer, but the connections and memories from this past year stick with us. Our 6th-grade class headed to Camp Westwind back in April, for three days of bonding and outdoor learning. From kayaking and exploring intertidal zones to challenge courses and community service, the days were packed with action. The best part? Watching the students cook meals for each other and share silly stories around the campfire. We are so proud of the community they are building!
