1. At a Munsel meeting last year, we were driven by a deep desire to create a children’s book in Tibetan.
2. Not just any book, but something that piques our young readers’ interest in reading in Tibetan, offering them enjoyment and engagement.
3. We envisioned encouraging Tibetan children to create stories that capture their imagination in our language.
4. We were lucky to meet these kids and skilled illustrators willing to collaborate with us. The girls wrote the stories with the help of their Tibetan tutor and the artwork was done by a 10-year-old boy and later enhanced with technology by a recent college graduate graphic designer.

In this video, we are pleased to introduce you to Rigyal Dorji, age 10 from Walnut Creek, California, our book's illustrator and a long-time Munsel student.

We're excited to introduce Dadonla, one of the authors of Munsel's first book! 📚✨

The characters in her story are inspired by her little brother and the animals she encountered during her annual trips to Bylakuppe. She loves animals and prefers reading in Tibetan over other language.

Book Release! 📚

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first Children’s Book, after hundreds of iterations and editions over a year. སྒྲུང་ཐུང་གནས་ལུགས་ཟབ།, translated as Collections of Stories with Morals, is a collection of 4 short stories, each delivering a heartfelt message of Friendship, Compassion, Kindness, and Courage to face the truth.

The book is written by Tenzin Dadon (Age 10) and Tenzin Yetok (Age 11), and beautifully illustrated by Rigyal Dorji Lakar-Gyeling (Age 10) and .

We want to thank Tenzin Dhargyal from Sera Online School, Ngawang Yingnyi from Norsang Bookstore for proofreading, Gen Kalsang Wangdula and Jamyang Gyaltsen from for guidance, ALSA Internationals for Printing and anyone else we forgot to mention.
