The award recognizes our Center for Business Law and Leadership, which connects students with attorneys, entrepreneurs, and business leaders through hands-on learning, mentorship, experiential education, and innovative partnerships with organizations such as Nike, Intel, and ZoomInfo.

Yesterday, the Lezak community came together for our 2026 Summer Kickoff event. It was an absolute joy to introduce our newest class of Lezak Social Justice Fellows and bring together former fellows, mentors, steering committee members, and longtime supporters.

The Lezak Social Justice Fellowship honors the legacy of Sid Lezak, one of the longest-serving U.S. Attorneys in history, to carry his spirit forward. The fellowship grants summer stipends to 4-6 law students each year, allowing them to work in vital public interest law sectors that provide direct assistance to underserved clients and causes.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, brought great conversation, and helped us kick off the summer with such amazing energy (and great food!).

A distinguished panel of Lewis & Clark alumni judges will come together during Alumni Weekend for “Reflections from the Bench: Justice As An Agent of Social Change.”

Join U.S. District Judge Laura Provinzino ’98, Multnomah County Judge Angela Franco Lucero ’03, and Multnomah County Judge Chanpone Sinlapasai ’02 for a thoughtful conversation on justice, leadership, and the role of the judiciary in shaping social change. The discussion will be moderated by Professor Tung Yin.

This week, Lewis & Clark Law School was proud to host the 2026 Crime Victim Law Conference presented by the National Crime Victim Law Institute (NCVLI).

As the premier national conference on victims’ rights enforcement, the conference brought together more than 200 in-person attendees and 100 virtual participants for two days of learning, collaboration, and advocacy through five plenary sessions and 15 breakout sessions.

A special thank you to Professor Meg Garvin, Executive Director of NCVLI at L&C Law, whose leadership helped make this important conference possible, as well as alumna Stephanie Scheno ’25 and the cohort of Lewis & Clark law student volunteers who helped support the event throughout the week.

The conference also honored Perkins Coie for its pro bono work, with alumnus Bryan Beal attending to accept the recognition, and celebrated the winners of a national student writing competition, including Lewis & Clark student Hannah Beaulieu ’26.

Thank you to the advocates, attorneys, scholars, and practitioners who joined us in advancing the future of victims’ rights advocacy.

As data center expansion accelerates across Oregon, Lewis & Clark Law School’s Green Energy Institute is helping shape innovative solutions to address the environmental and economic impacts.

Congratulations to Lewis & Clark Law student Vincent Sheoships on receiving the Honorable Jeff Morris Scholarship from the Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation! 🎉

Vincent, an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, is pursuing a career focused on energy law and renewable development in Indian Country. Through his studies, leadership, and public service experience, he is committed to advancing legal and policy solutions that empower Tribal Nations in the transition to sustainable energy.
