This week, we will be discussing the pinky finger, or Mercury finger. Mercury was the Greek God of Communication and the favorite son of Zeus. He was known for being mischievous and mixing messages up that he was delivering, changing the message, giving the wrong message to the wrong person, all for his amusement. He was also one of the few Gods that could pass from realm to realm, walk on Earth and travel to the underworld or the heavens without issue.
Mercury is also one of our planets that belongs in our solar system. Some of us refer to "Mercury Retrograde" having put a wrench in our technology or communications, even our travel plans.
Beyond communications, Mercury has his fingers in a little bit of everything.

In Hand Analysis we look at the fingerprints to determine a person's Life Purpose as well as the main challenge that needs to be overcome in order to live an authentic life.

The middle finger has a long history of being associated with rude gestures. As far back as ancient Greece, it was considered the finger of ill repute.

In Hand Analysis, the middle finger is called the Saturn Finger.
Astrologically, Saturn is considered to be the planet of rules, restrictions and time. It's often referred to as the “Lord of Karma.”

In the hand, we look to it for information on security needs, sense of responsibility, integrity, self-worth and relationship to money.

Does knowing all that make you think any differently about this gesture?

The Zone of Principles. When this upper digit is in full function, the owner could be a visionary who has high ideals and takes action to make things happen. The downside is when those ideals could be just a dream that never gets pursued in reality.
How do you think the owner of this Zone of Principles is doing? Too much, too little or just right and why?

Notice the downward curved line from the side of the hand under the pinky finger that meets the heart line. This is found on the hand of a person who dives right in to follow their heart, which is how it got the name "Love At First Sight" line.

This line won't say whether that whirlwind relationship is a good thing or a bad thing. It just indicates a tendency or pattern of behavior.

A fork that bends down from the Heart Line towards the Mound of Mars is a sign of emotion based conflict avoidance. The person with this mark is trying to make life easier for themself by not having to assert boundaries. But this can be an expensive life lesson. Are you a conflict avoider?

Some heart lines are straight and some are curvy. Some are long and some are short.

Your heart line type reveals your partnering style and provides lots of information on how to have successful relationships. Are you super passionate (short and curvy) or more of a romantic idealist (long and straight)? Do you want lots of togetherness (long and curvy) or are you needing lots of space (short and straight)?
