The Change healthcare Hack has cause my business to not get paid in six weeks. Your medical system was hacked and providers who serve your most basic needs have not been paid. All over America. I have been on the news, I’ve called all my senators and legislators. I’ve called and talked to the governors office. The governor’s office did not realize the impact on small businesses. But the impact is great. As is true for restaurants; we have a very small profit margin. Not being paid for 4-6 weeks is unbelievably scary.

Radical Wellness is a practice that encompasses connecting with your body, spirit, and mind, as well as honoring and acknowledging your feelings.
It takes time, acceptance, and kindness.
As the practice of self-care becomes more defined and infused with our core values the more we are drawn toward compassion and empathy for others.
We explore what Radical Wellness is when we allow ourselves enough self-care and self-compassion.
Being fulfilled from within allows for the room needed to care for others and experience true common humanity.
Knowing we all deserve attention to self is a radical act.

Humans are animals with instincts developed over thousands of years.
Flight, fight, and freeze are part of all animals and give us information about predators so that we survive. 🐅
While many people do not live with this type of danger, the brain has formed around the idea of keeping us safe at all costs.
The brain needs to be updated to understand that you are not prey and there are not predators at every turn. 😵💫

Humans are incredible learners. 🧑🏼🎓
The younger we are, the stickier our experiences.
If a small child touches the stove and burns themself, they will learn not to touch the stove again.
As they age, they may have a fear of being burned and not remember why. The experience stayed, but the details of the memory are filed away in the brain. 🤔
When humans have traumatic experiences, they stay with us. Flight, fight, and freeze become accessible with super speed because they save us from danger at our most base level.
The brain is thematic. If this…then that goes the thinking brain.
While this isn’t true, we can’t distinguish between truth in our brain from past trauma and the reality of a situation in the present. 🧠
If I burned myself on the stove and then I see my child near the stove 30 years later, I might have a fear reaction that looks like flight or fight. 😳
This trauma response is so ingrained in our DNA it can be hard to retrain ourselves to slow down and think logically about our reactions.
It takes time, so have compassion for yourself!
