PPS West Sylvan Middle School

Our newest 7th and 8th graders were met with our Packleaders today to get schedules, find classes and make some new friends before day 1. Welcome to the Wolfpack!

An exciting day at West Sylvan! Teachers are back and we are diving into our MYP learning with a school-wide launch training. The Middle Years Programme is the grades 6-10 program from the International Baccalaurette (IB). We have become a candidate school and are excited to re-examine our work around teaching and learning. The MYP framework is school-wide, holistic, and inquiry-based. We will be sharing more throughout the year as we work towards applying for authorization an IB World School.

A special thanks to all of our 7th and 8th grade Packleaders! This group of students was in today for mentor training and will be working next week to welcome new students to the WOLFPACK (new 7th/8th graders on the 27th and 6th graders on the 28th). Go Wolves!

An unexpected start to a Monday morning but after a fire alarm we have been cleared and are back in class ready to start the week!

Parents don't forget to join us tonight at 6:00 for a talk with Eric Anctil, parenting in the digital age. It takes a wolfpack!

Reminder: Forecasting surveys are due Friday March 17th. If your student hasn't selected the elective courses they would like to take during the 2017/18 school year now is the time! Surveys, course information and directions are available on our school website. This information is key to our work in building a responsive West Sylvan. Thanks in advance for your help with this!!
