Orff-Schulwerk pedagogy Carl Orff, with Gunild Keetman, developed this approach to guide children in music learning in Germany in the 1920s.

The focus is on the child, and uses play to engage the children in learning musical skills.

✨ Spend your summer making music, moving, creating, and connecting with fellow music educators! ✨

Portland Orff’s Summer Levels Courses are a joyful, hands-on opportunity to deepen your musicianship and teaching practice through the Orff-Schulwerk approach. Whether you’re beginning with Level I or continuing through Levels II or III, you’ll leave inspired, energized, and full of practical ideas for your classroom.
