THANK YOU!

Because of YOU, we didn’t just meet our goal — we smashed it by over $10,000. We also welcomed 25 new donors into our community, which means even more students will feel seen, supported, and connected.

Thank you for giving, sharing, and showing up. We truly couldn’t do this without you. 💙

“Through Greater Portland Hillel, my daughter found community and pride in her Jewish identity by baking challah weekly, celebrating Shabbat in the homes of community members, attending a women’s retreat, and even designing her very own Tikkun Olam internship.

As a parent, I’m deeply grateful for the support Greater Portland Hillel provides—from simple comforts like matzo ball soup when she’s sick, to a strong network of guidance during challenging moments on campus. It’s been a source of reassurance not just for her, but for me as well.

Now if I can just get her to teach me to make challah this summer…”

“Our weekly Challah Bake has impacted my connection to the community by reinvigorating myself and all the students with an immense feeling of Jewish joy. Students who attend the challah bake come from diverse backgrounds, including non-Jewish students interested in learning, Jewish students seeking to reconnect, and those already actively engaged in Hillel. Everyone who attends challah bake has said it is the thing they look forward to the most in the week. Challah bake has become a staple that sustains our community’s cohesion, vibrancy, and Jewish community!

PDX Hillel has truly invested in me and my passion projects, like a weekly challah bake, as they do with every student. They have supported my college experience through various fellowships, internships, and leadership positions. Hillel gives me a reason to embrace my Judaism every single day of my college life. It gives me the motivation to be the proud Jewish woman that I am. And, it gives me the community to surround myself with Jewish joy and community. There is no college experience without Hillel. And, in fact, I wouldn’t want it any other way.” –Sammi Weiss, Class of 2027
