This week, Sunset High School's Fitness and Movement program visited Terra Linda's First Grade to demonstrate their skills. π« The high school students designed the lesson plan and facilitated it in small groups during P.E. π Some of the engaging activities included stretching to warm-up, playing βRed Light, Green Light,β and riding scooters. The First Grade had an amazing time participating with Sunset High! π We are incredibly grateful for this wonderful partnership. π€

The Tiger Tracks Run Club launches in September and continues through June. Our students look forward to every Wednesday, racing to the track to find their scan cards and log their mileage. This program encourages children to run, walk, skip, dance, or engage in any movement they enjoy during their lunch recess. πββοΈπββοΈ
Currently, we have two students who have completed a MARATHON, along with over twenty others who have successfully finished half-marathons! π½ π

Another exciting auction item from the 4th-grade fundraiser was the opportunity to be βSchool Lunch Helpers!β π½οΈ Two students were given the chance to take on the roles of our Nutrition Services Team, assisting with daily tasks such as preparing and serving meals, sanitizing tables, and working as cashiers. This was a delightful way to learn about the behind-the-scenes activities and contribute in the cafeteria! π

Recently, the third graders had a fantastic experience during "Fort Day." They collaborated to construct blanket forts, transforming our classrooms into wonderfully imaginative learning environments. The students took pleasure in a range of activities, including reading π, participating in art projects π¨, and enjoying games π². Thank you parent volunteers for making this such a wonderful event.
In the second half of the year, our fourth and fifth graders had the option to join afterschool clubs. One of the exciting offerings was the Art Club! ποΈIn recent weeks, students have been experimenting with various art mediums and techniques, creating pieces to display for their afterschool Art Show.πΌοΈ Much gratitude to our volunteers and teachers that make our clubs possible.
